I saw a stand of ‘boring’ brown trees while traveling. Realizing I was not being present to the moment I refocused myself and really looked at the trees. I saw the gold. It has inspired several images. A neighbor told me her favorite part of the previous picture Finding the Path was the tree trunks, and so this painting which I started as something else entirely, became this place of being in the woods.
